Philanthropy

This philanthropy page is designed to inform all chapters about the current philanthropy focus of Province V. The Vice Satrap, who is the Philanthropy chair, along with the philanthropy committee present a list of possible philanthropy topics at the Spring Assembly and the Province, as a whole, votes to select one topic as the theme for the year. The Vice Satrap also communicates and evaluates each chapter's progress in regards to overall community and professional service programs completed for the year in order to select winners for the various awards given.

The official philanthropy project that was voted on at the Province V Spring Assembly for the 2011-2012 academic year is Patient Education.

Chapter Philanthropy Activity

The Vice Satrap will communicate with all chapters to keep a running tally of total community service hours completed by each chapter as a whole. This information will be updated periodically and posted on the website so that all chapters will have access to it in order to see how other chapters compare with them. In addition to all other awards given at the Spring Assembly, the chapter with the most community service hours will also be recognized.

The Vice Satrap will also recognize individual brothers who log over 100 community service hours at the Spring Assembly. When it gets closer to the Assembly, the Vice Satrap will be contacting each chapter to get a list of brothers who qualify (proof of hours will have to accompany the list).

National Philanthropy

The National Philanthropy Project is Kappa Psi. Chapters should invest in themselves through fundraising in order to benefit the fraternity and Health Literacy Programs. National Philanthropic projects completed by each chapter will be reflected on the "Chapter Progress Report Form".
