This awards page is designed to acknowledge all chapters that have won various awards for their hard work and dedication to Kappa Psi.

There are many awards handed out throughout the year, and mostly at the Spring Province V Assembly. Listed below are the descriptions, qualifications and past winners of each award.

Vice Satrap Awards

Each year at the Spring Province V Assembly, the Vice Satrap hands out awards based on excellence in philanthropy and community service. Listed below are the descriptions and criteria to be considered for each award.

Recognition for Participation in Province Philanthropy

Description:This Certificate of Recognition will be presented to each chapter participating in any capacity to the Province V Philanthropic focus, as selected at the previous Assembly, during the academic year. The philanthropy information must be documented on the Province Chapter of the Year form to be eligible for the Certificate of Recognition.

Award criteria:

• Information submitted on the Province Chapter of the Year form in the Province Packet

Excellence in Province Philanthropy

Description:This award will be presented to the chapter that shows outstanding dedication and service participation to the Province V Philanthropic focus, as selected at the previous Assembly, during the academic year. This chapter also shows excellent communication with the Vice Satrap.

Award criteria:

• Information submitted on the Province Chapter of the Year form in the Province Packet

• Information submitted on the written Chapter Report Form

• Review of The Mask chapter articles

Most Improved Chapter Service

Description:This award will be presented to the chapter that shows the most outstanding improvement in philanthropic service participation, for the time period between the previous Assembly to the current Assembly. All chapter service will be considered.

• Information submitted on the Province Chapter of the Year form in the Province Packet

• Information submitted on the written Chapter Report Form

• Review of The Mask chapter articles

Service Excellence

Description:This award will be presented to the chapter that shows outstanding dedication and service participation in overall community and professional services during the academic year. All chapter service will be considered. This chapter also shows excellent communication with the Vice Satrap.

• Information submitted on the Province Chapter of the Year form in the Province Packet

• Information submitted on the written Chapter Report Form

• Review of The Mask chapter articles

Professional Service Excellence

Description:This award is NEW for the 2006-2007 year and will be presented to the chapter that shows outstanding dedication and service participation in professional pharmacy events during the academic year. These pharmacy events should have an emphasis on advancing the profession in some way or providing care or education services to patients or the public. This chapter also shows excellent communication with the Vice Satrap in providing service communications.

Best Chapter Presentation Award

Description:The Best Chapter Presentation award is voted upon by the officers and given to the chapter which they feel best embodies the spirit of Kappa Psi. The award will be given to the chapter who's presentation was the most original, entertaining, and informative to the entire assembly. There are no set standards for how the award shall be won, but chapters who blatently ignore risk management policies and other rules and regulations of the Fraternity within their report shall not be considered for this award.

William R Smith Traveling Trophy

Description:The Traveling Trophy is named after the late Grand Regent, William R. Smith (1989-91). Brother Smith was an initiate of the Mu Omicron Pi chapter at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He is responsible for pushing the merger of Province V and VI into the current Province V and is the last Brother from Province V to be elected Grand Regent. At the 1998 Province V Assembly held at Beta Upsilon (Butler University), a resolution was passed to permanently name the traveling trophy the William R. Smith Traveling Trophy.

Award Criteria:

This award is given to the chapter that:

• Travels the furthest distance to the assembly

• Brings the biggest percentage of their brotherhood to the assembly

• Highest percentage of brothers present of those attending during the 3 sessions of the assembly

Chapter of the Year Award

Description:This award is given to the Chapter that not only represents Fellowship, Industry, Sobriety and High Ideals within its own Chapter, but also extending their devotion at the Province level.
